Thinktank calls for retirement at 67

The Institute for Public Policy Research has called for the state retirement age to be raised to 67 by 2030. However, it warns that the move will be unpopular because young people expect to die earlier than they will.

Focus groups have shown that most people expect their health to deteriorate from age 70, but in fact the life expectancy for a 19 year old man is 87 years, and for a woman nearly 90.
